On October 1st at new “Žalgiris” arena in Kaunas the only one concert in Lithuania will perform English pop rock singer-songwriter and musician JAMES BLUNT.
James Hillier Blount (stage name James Blunt) was born on February 22nd 1974 at an army hospital in Tidworth, Wiltshire, England.
His debut album, Back to Bedlam, was released by Atlantic Records in the United Kingdom in October 2004 and peaked at #1 on the UK Albums Chart in July 2005 and within the top five across most of Europe. It also peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 in the United States. The album has sold over 11 million copies worldwide and has been certified 10 times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in the UK. Back to Bedlam produced the singles “High”, “Wisemen” and “Goodbye My Lover”. The most successful single released from the album, “You're Beautiful”, went to #1 on the UK Singles Chart, Irish Singles Chart, Dutch Top 40 and the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. It also peaked at #2 in Australia and Germany.
James Blunt won three MTV Music Awads, two BRIT Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards, two World Music Awards and by 2006 was nominated for five Grammy Awards (Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album). The following year, he released his second album All the Lost Souls (2007). Blunt's third album, Some Kind of Trouble was released in November 2010 and debuted at #4 in the UK.
Blunt was an officer in the Life Guards, a Cavalry regiment of the British Army, and served under NATO in Kosovo during the conflict there in 1999. While posted to Kosovo, Blunt was introduced to the work of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF or “Doctors Without Borders”). Since then, Blunt has supported MSF by holding meet-and-greet auctions at many of his concerts.
Blunt has also contributed with his vocals for the charity single, “Everybody Hurts” in aid of the 2010 Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
Worldwide, Blunt has sold over 15 million albums.
During World Tour 2011 “Some Kind Of Trouble” James Blunt is touring with all his sound and light equipment.
